825 Drake Avenue, Marin City

On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, the applicant resubmitted building permit plans to reduce the number of units from 74 units to 42 units. Plans are currently under review.  With the revised plans,  the 74 affordable units already approved at 825 Drake Ave. in Marin City would be reduced to 42 units. The remaining 32 units would be built at 150 Shoreline Hwy. in Tam Junction, a site recently acquired by the developer of the Marin City project.

The original, approved project entails demolishing the existing structure and building a new 73,793-square-foot multi-family apartment building. The building would be five stories and 56 feet eight inches high, with 74 units restricted to lower-income households.  The application was submitted, reviewed and approved pursuant to California Senate Bill 35 (SB 35), codified in Government Code Section 65913.4.
