Electrify Marin rebate application

Summary

The County of Marin is offering rebates to single family property owners for the proper removal and replacement of natural gas appliances including water heaters, furnaces, ranges, and cooktops with high efficiency electric units.

Notice

After almost six successful years and over $1.3 million in rebates, the Electrify Marin budget is reaching its end. At the current rate of projects, the remaining budget is expected to be fully expended by the end of October 2025.

Electrify Marin rebates are available on a first-come, first serve basis until the funds are fully expended. The County of Marin does not guarantee that all requests will be fulfilled.

 

How to apply

Step 1: Confirm that the product(s) you are planning to install meet(s) the eligibility requirements. Visit the Electrify Marin webpage for more information.

Step 2: Complete the application:

  • Complete Project and Payment Details.
  • Read and sign the Program Terms & Conditions.
  • Complete New Appliance Information.
  • If applying for an Income Qualified Rebate for "very low income" households, complete Income Qualifications and Verification.

Step 3: Attach or upload all of the following supporting documentation:

  • Provide proof for purchase - either a retail product receipt or detailed contractor invoice that identifies specific equipment installed.
  • Provide before pictures of the appliance(s) to be replaced and after pictures of new appliance(s).
  • Provide a copy of the building permit from the local Building Department for installation of new appliance(s) if applicable. If you're replacing your water heater or furnace, you need a permit. If you're not sure, contact your local building department.
  • Provide Documentation of Income Qualifications (if applicable).

Step 4: Complete Financial forms.

  • If your rebate requested is below $600: Please provide a copy of signed IRS W-9 form (IRS requirement), OR
  • If your rebate requested is over $600: Complete the Marin Electronic Funds Transfer form.
