San Rafael, CA – Key dates are coming up in the November 5 General Election. Ballots will be mailed to all active registered voters and in-person services will be available at the Marin County Elections Department starting Monday, October 7.
All ballots will include the candidates for President and Vice President, U.S Senate, U.S. Representative, member of the State Assembly, and 10 state propositions. Ballots will also include local races and measures depending on where a voter lives.
Those planning to participate in the election should be aware of the following dates:
- September 26: Mailing of county voter information guides begins. The mailings will roll out over four or five days.
- October 7: Ballot packets will be mailed to all active registered voters in the county. This is also the first day to receive voter services in the Elections Department between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM in Suite 121 at the Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael.
- October 21: The last day to register to vote in this election.
- October 22: Starting on this day and until 8 PM Election Day, eligible residents who are not registered must go to a vote center to register and vote. Check online for locations and dates and hours of operation.
- October 26: Four vote centers will be open. Check online for locations and hours of operation. Additional vote centers open on November 2.
- October 29: The last day the Elections Department can mail a ballot. After this day, voters wishing to vote must get a ballot in person at any vote center.
- November 2: Twenty vote centers will be open through Election Day. Check online for locations and hours of operation.
- November 5: Election Day. All vote centers will be open from 7 AM to 8 PM. Ballot return envelope must be signed and postmarked on or before this day or dropped in an official ballot drop box or at any vote center by 8 PM. Ballot drop boxes and vote centers close precisely at 8 PM. Check www.marinvotes.org for locations.
